Poor Macy Face

With a fever of 101 degrees, Macy has never looked so awful. She has been sick for three days now; it all started Tuesday when she woke up in the middle of the night screaming. Poor girl, she had thrown up all over the place. She even started doing this little baby dry-heave thing. She slept most of the following day, she was so out of it. She didn't even care to play with Shelby (one of Macy's little friends that I babysit a few times a month).
The following day, I finally got up the courage to leave the house with her, and we headed to Costco. I thought she might be getting better and I tried feeding her some tasties (chicken nuggets, yummy) but she wouldn't have any. Instead, she tilted forward as her face went pale. And then it happened... baby vomit everywhere (althought actually it looked more like adult vomit... you know, all thick and chunky). Maybe the worst part was that everyone ignored me until I begged one of the workers for help. In hindsight, I should have just got her a new outfit and changed her clothes on the spot. I mean, Costco has an excellent return policy.

Gingerbread Houses

With Christmas right around the corner, I feel like we are running out of time to really get all of our traditions in motion. This past weekend was pretty successful in that department! I spent Friday night helping with our Ward Christmas party where we served dinner to almost 200 people and Bre and I washed dishes for almost two hours. Crazy, but I feel like it went well and I'm glad that I got to be a part of it.

Saturday night was even better though as we had leftover ham and potatoes (deliciousness without any of the prep work), and created works of art with our friends. GINGERBREAD HOUSES, which of course couldn't be done without ELF in the background.

The house-making in process.

Steve, Danielle, and Alexa's final product. Can you tell they are Jazz fans?

Our final product! Don't mind the tippiness. Our house looks like it survived an earthquake but at least it is still pretty.

Megan and Tyler's final product. Go Utes!

All of the houses together. Good work guys and thanks for a fun night to help us get in the Christmas mood.

Alexa and Elliot really enjoyed the blocks and toys. Not too much help in the creative department but they play so well together. What cute kiddos.

Macy really got into the spirit as well when she shared presents with Elliot and Weston (her best friends!). The kids were really into the wrapping paper. Elliot loved chewing on it even. Yummy!

Smoochy, Smoochy

Macy has been blowing kisses for a while now but I finally got it on video... Enjoy! And a picture of her just being cute with her little pigtails. Aren't they just adorable?

Family Pictures 2009

We had family pictures taken a few weeks ago by Megan's sister, Andrea. I'm very happy with the way that they turned out. Sorry there are so many but there were so many that it was hard to choose our favorites. Thanks Andrea for the great work!

Happy Birthday Macy Face!

Macy was born a year ago! It's wierd because it seems like she wasn't born that long ago but at the same time it is hard to imagine life without her. We love our Macy Face and are happy to enjoy her first birthday party for her (because who really remembers their first birthday party?) We had a few friends over for pizza, cake, and ice cream. Brittany spent the whole day researching how to make a fancy cake and it paid off. Not to brag or anything but I think it turned out really cute (not quite as tasty as I would have liked but pretty). Macy wasn't too interested in actually opening her presents but the left over wrapping paper sure made a fun toy. Sawyer, Weston, and Macy had a blast rolling around in the middle of the floor.
Our little Macy Face is growing so fast and it seems like we can't even keep up with her anymore. She is still a little scared to actually let go of things to walk but loves to walk as long as you are holding her finger. One of these days she'll catch on but until we are safe. She loves to giggle and enjoys dancing (very silly like her papa). Sesame Street is her favorite TV show and is very content to sit and watch Elmo. She gets so excited when the music comes on. She eats like a champ and loves Macaroni & Cheese, yogurt, and most fruits. Strawberries and blueberries are her absolute favorite. She is pretty good at drinking out of a sippy cup and we are working on getting rid of the bottle. (Hopefully to be gone in the next week! Hurray.)
I took Macy to the doctor this morning to get her all checked out and was surprised with her measurements. I mean, I know she's tall (based off the fact that most of her pants are too short and she moved up to 18-24 month clothes in the past few weeks). She weighed in at 23 lbs (75th percentile) and is 31 1/4 inches long (<95th>
Well-- Enough talk from me, here are a few pictures from her birthday to enjoy.
The Birthday Girl! She wasn't very smiley but that was probably due to the four shots that she got that morning.
We had a great party with all of our friends! Even though, the Roas couldn't make it to the party, we love that they stopped by to say hi.

My first attempt at a fancy cake. I think it turned out great!

Mommy and Little Macy Face.

Look what I found? Can I open them, please?

Macy was a little confused about what was going on here. She loved the singing but the candle threw her off a bit.

Happy 1st Birthday. We Love You Macy Face!

Thanksgiving Adventures

Thanksgiving is always the perfect time of year to visit Arizona. 70 degree weather and bright sunshine is such a nice change from the dark and dreary Portland 50s.

Our Thanksgiving day started out a bit earlier than usual with a great run -- The Turkey Trot. Tim, Sarah, Matt, and I all ran the 10K. Matt and Sarah even beat the turkey. Tim made great time and I came in just in time to beat my goal of one hour! Wahoo...

Dinner was delicious and Macy really got into her food...

Yummy! Mashed potatoes...

and banana cream pie!

The Schmidt Kids! Becca, Nate, David, Tim, Mike, Matt, and Sarah

Macy made a new best friend, Amelia. They had so much fun lauhging and playing together.

With three birthday this next week, they had a big party to help celebrate. Macy shared a great party with Becca and Matt! Thanks Grammie and Pop Pop for the great presents.

Aren't they fun? We love having aunts, uncles, and cousins to play with.

Our fun ended with a trip to see the lights at the Arizona Temple. They are gorgeous as always!

Lunch with the Longs

Our good friends, Jeff and Jenn Long came into town just before Thanksgiving. We got together for a great lunch at Olive Garden but the best part was seeing Macy and Cohen flirt with each other across the table. It was so cute!

New Moon

The moment I have been waiting for for almost a year now came this past weekend!

NEW MOON!

It was definitely worth the wait. Here are a few of my thoughts on the movie:

  • Oddly enough, the Vulturi was my favorite. They were exactly how I pictured them in the book.
  • You can tell the budget was better and in so, the special effects made a big difference. The movie actually flowed this time instead of being choppy and rough.
  • Bella did a much better job acting. She seemed genuine in this movie and there was definitely more chemistry between her and Edward. I loved how dangerous she was, living on the edge just to get a glimpse of her love (maybe I should try cliff-jumping).
  • Alice was gorgeous as ever! Her outfits are always so put together.
  • Jacob... I know he is only sixteen or whatever, but those abs...and the hair cut really did it for him. mmmmmm.... abs....
  • The ending... leaving you hanging, wonder what Bella will do.

I am amazed as how well the movie turned out. It was so fun to go with our dear friends, Calie, Anthony, and Tyler and in fact it was the latest that Tim and I have stayed out since we got married. We didn't get home until almost 2:00 a.m. Most of all, I can't wait until June when Eclipse comes out. Here are some of the pictures of our fun night:

The Roas celebrating Calie's 30th birthday!

Humm... I wonder if this movie is going to be any good? - Tim

          Besties!

I'm glad that Tim went with me. He even enjoyed himself.

        Vendor Fair

Tonight was our last vendor fair (A chance for all of the dental students to get wooed over and get a whole bunch of free stuff). Tim was so excited because it was a chance to win big (They do a raffle for some great prizes such as ipods and gift cards). He was so sure that he was going to have good luck but once again his luck failed him. Although, he didn't win we still came home with enough tooth brushes to last us all year.

The dental students and their little prodigies.
